Library Director Falki Moorman has academic research experience to go along with a wide range of personal knowledge of various fields, including yoga, archeology, improvisational theater, Norse mythology, scuba diving, and comic book creation. If you need help researching a project, ask her!

We’re here to help you with your questions!

Katahdin Public Library is open 9:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. You can return items through the book return slot any time.

While we primarily serve the residents of the towns of Island Falls, Crystal, and Dyer Brook, anyone is eligible for membership.

You can apply for a library card in person or through our website. All you need is a photo ID.

Your library card number alone will get you into some websites, and some websites require no login at all. At Maine Balsam Libraries, which requires your library card number and a password, your password is the last 4 digits of your library card number. Once you have logged in there, you can change your password to something more secure.

Yes! Just tell our librarian, in person or by email, the title and author of the book you want to borrow. If the book is available within the Maine Balsam Libraries network, we will order it for you. NOTE: If you visit the Maine Balsam Libraries website and see a book you want to reserve, there is a “HOLD” button. It does NOT work for books outside our Katahdin Public Library collection. We will let you know if and when that issue is resolved. Until then, please contact us to order books from other libraries.

Yes! We provide access to eBooks, online databases, magazines, and more through our digital library platforms.

We host story hours, book clubs, workshops, and various community events throughout the year. If you have programs you’d like to see or host, please let us know!
